DENVER - If you are looking to enjoy your favorite brew or liquor without having to go to the store, you're in luck. An app called "Drizly" will allow customers who are 21 years old and older to order alcohol delivered to their door in less than an hour.

Matthew Erley, general manager for "Drizly Denver," says for now that app is only partnering with Argonaut in Denver and will allow customers to order a minimum of $20 worth of alcohol from the store during regular business hours.

"Drizly is a mobile application that allows smart phone users to purchase their favorite beer wine and liquor. It's about conscience," Erley said.

Erley says the cost of the liquor is the same as it is in the store, but customers are required to pay a $5 delivery fee.

The company says anyone purchasing alcohol through the app will be required to type in their drivers license number. Once the online system verifies the customer's age they will deliver the products. Erley says once the driver arrives, he or she will be able to scan the drivers license to insure it's real and will verify that the person who ordered is the same person receiving the alcohol.

"If the person is highly intoxicated or it looks like there are under age people drinking, the driver won't make the sale, and there will be a $20 restocking fee assessed. The rest of the purchase will be refunded," Erley said.

Even if everything checks out, addiction therapists like Marc Coulter say the convenience for some could be a concern for others.

"Now the store is coming to us, and we can drink wherever we want, so I do think that it increases the possibility that we can drink more and more often and more frequently," Coulter said.

Whatever the reason people decide to use the app, it is available in Denver and some people think it might even deter drunk driving.
